FORT WORTH- American Airlines (AA) is elevating its premium offering with a new Champagne partnership as Bollinger (BLJ) makes its debut this fall. The airline aims to strengthen its Flagship First and Business Class experience on international flights.
The rollout begins with routes to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), followed by expansion across the wider Flagship network. On the ground, passengers will also find Bollinger in select Flagship Lounges at major airports, including Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), Miami (MIA), and Chicago O’Hare (ORD).

American Airlines Premium Flights Champagne
The decision to serve Bollinger Special Cuvée reflects American Airlines’ intent to shift away from a reputation of average service.
According to PYOK, the carrier’s partnership with the family-owned Champagne house underscores a strategic effort to reposition its brand against Delta Air Lines (DL) and United Airlines (UA).
Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden is driving this transformation. Drawing insights from Disney and the Auberge Resorts Collection, Garboden has been shaping initiatives to enhance passenger experience.
Recent upgrades include the return of pajamas and mattress pads in Flagship Business on ultra-long-haul routes, upcoming free in-flight Wi-Fi, and the restoration of full-service dining removed during the pandemic.
The Champagne partnership stands as a symbolic shift, targeting high-value travelers who expect premium amenities consistent with global standards.

Competitive Champagne Service
American Airlines’ reintroduction of Champagne is significant after discontinuing it in 2023, when Ferrari Brut Trento DOC replaced traditional options in Business Class.
Now, with Bollinger secured, AA directly rivals Delta’s Taittinger Brut Réserve and United’s Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée in premium cabins.
However, the most exclusive Champagne labels, Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Dom Pérignon, remain tied to Emirates (EK) through a 2022 exclusive agreement with LVMH. This deal notably forced Singapore Airlines (SQ) to remove Dom Pérignon from its service.

Lounges and Ground Experience
Bollinger is already pouring at American Airlines’ Flagship Lounges in Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), Miami (MIA), and Chicago O’Hare (ORD). Additional rollouts are planned for Los Angeles (LAX) and Philadelphia (PHL).
This marks a broader commitment to premium consistency both on the ground and in the air, reinforcing AA’s push to compete in the luxury travel market.
