DUBAI, UAE- Dubai International Airport (DXB), the world’s busiest hub for international passengers, has launched what it calls the first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered passenger corridor, allowing travelers to bypass traditional passport control.
Emirates Airline (EK) passengers arriving at or departing from Dubai International Airport (DXB) will now experience faster clearance, with AI systems verifying identities in seconds while ensuring security checks remain intact.

Dubai Airport World’s First AI Corridor
The system, introduced by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, was unveiled by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, who described it as a major advancement in smart travel.
The corridor, referred to as the “red carpet,” allows passengers to walk through without presenting documents or stopping at immigration desks.
Unlike conventional counters that process one traveler at a time, this technology can manage up to ten passengers simultaneously. Authorities emphasize that this is not only about reducing wait times but also about reshaping the entire airport journey, positioning DXB as a global benchmark in aviation innovation.

How the AI-powered Corridor Works
The passenger corridor uses advanced artificial intelligence to pre-identify travelers based on biometric and digital data before they approach the system.
Once inside, the AI confirms their identity automatically. Any irregularities or flagged profiles are redirected to manual review to maintain strict security protocols.
This approach significantly increases processing capacity without compromising safety. Passengers clear immigration in just a few seconds, compared with the several minutes often required at traditional passport counters.

Better Passenger Experiences
Travelers who have already used the new corridor describe the process as effortless.
- Mohammed Amer, a Syrian national, said he and his family crossed in record time without pausing at counters.
- Mahmoud Balu, from Canada, noted that the journey felt smoother and more comfortable than at any airport he had visited.
- Dubai businessman Ali Abdullah Al Sherawi highlighted that even leading airports such as Singapore Changi (SIN), Tokyo Narita (NRT), or London Heathrow (LHR) have yet to match the speed and ease of the DXB system.
While airports like London Heathrow (LHR) and John F. Kennedy (JFK) in New York have piloted automated lanes, Dubai’s deployment is widely considered faster, more intuitive, and fully integrated into passenger flow.

Bottom Line
Dubai International Airport (DXB) has long positioned itself as a leader in global connectivity, serving more international travelers than any other hub. The introduction of the AI corridor strengthens Dubai’s reputation for combining efficiency with hospitality.
Officials note that the initiative reflects the UAE’s broader ambition to lead in digital transformation, aligning with the country’s vision of smart government services.
The airport’s ability to scale passenger processing without increasing physical infrastructure further cements its standing as a global aviation leader.
