DUBAI- Emirates (EK) revealed its custom-designed A380 livery dedicated to its new door-to-door delivery solution, Emirates Courier Express. The aircraft blends passenger transport with cargo delivery capabilities, marking a strategic expansion of Emirates’ service portfolio.
Emirates’ cargo infrastructure provides the foundation for the new Emirates Courier Express service. This enables the airline to extend its expertise to door-to-door package delivery while maintaining the reliability standards established through decades of global logistics operations.

Emirates A380 Courier Express
The livery transforms the A380 with a unique kraft paper-inspired design across the nose and fuselage. This brown packaging theme strategically tears away to expose the UAE flag on the tailfin alongside the Emirates Courier Express logo prominently displayed on both sides of the aircraft.
Each of the 4 engines features the logo, while the belly maintains the classic red Emirates (EK) branding. Authentic-looking handling stamps and a large “special delivery” mark complete the package-themed exterior.
This represents Emirates’ first cargo-inspired livery on a passenger aircraft, highlighting the integration of its passenger and cargo operations.
Engineering
Emirates Engineering managed the comprehensive transformation in-house, executing a complete aircraft repaint.
The project encompassed design conceptualisation, production planning, installation precision, and painting expertise to bring the customised aircraft to operational status efficiently.
The technical team adhered to strict aviation standards while implementing the creative design elements, demonstrating Emirates’ internal capabilities beyond standard maintenance operations.
Operational Launch
The Emirates Courier Express A380 commenced service this week with its inaugural flight to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg (JNB) in South Africa. This first mission exemplified the dual-purpose functionality by transporting both passengers and parcels to their destination simultaneously.

Business Integration
The livery visually represents Emirates’ business strategy of combining its extensive passenger network with cargo capabilities. The company leverages its fleet of over 250 widebody aircraft and high-frequency global routes alongside Emirates SkyCargo’s logistics infrastructure to create an integrated delivery solution.
Emirates SkyCargo
Emirates SkyCargo operates as the freight division of Emirates, providing comprehensive cargo transportation services across the airline’s extensive global network.
The division maintains specialised facilities at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), including temperature-controlled storage areas for pharmaceuticals, perishables, and other sensitive cargo.
The operation handles approximately 2 million tonnes of cargo annually, utilising dedicated freighter aircraft alongside belly-hold capacity in passenger flights. Emirates SkyCargo offers specialised services including priority shipping, vulnerable cargo handling, and industry-specific solutions for pharmaceuticals, perishable goods, and valuable items.

Market Positioning
The Emirates Courier Express service represents the airline’s entry into the competitive express delivery market, building on four decades of experience moving people and cargo worldwide.
This strategic diversification allows Emirates (EK) to capitalise on the growing e-commerce and rapid delivery sectors while utilising existing aviation assets.
By combining passenger services with parcel delivery capabilities, Emirates (EK) creates operational efficiencies while offering consumers and businesses new shipping options backed by the airline’s established global network and recognised brand reputation.
