DOHA- Qatar Airways (QR) will begin operating flights to The Red Sea (RSI), Saudi Arabia, from 21 October 2025. The airline will offer three weekly services, making The Red Sea its 12th destination in the Kingdom.
The route strengthens Qatar Airways’ (QR) presence in Saudi Arabia (KSA), with passengers connecting through Hamad International Airport (DOH) gaining access to one of the country’s newest luxury destinations. The Red Sea International Airport (RSI) will now link directly to more than 170 global destinations via the airline’s award-winning hub in Doha.

The addition of The Red Sea marks another milestone in Qatar Airways’ strategic expansion in Saudi Arabia.
The carrier already operates more than 130 weekly flights to the Kingdom, covering major cities and regional hubs. This new service not only supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 tourism ambitions but also enhances connectivity for travelers arriving from Asia, Europe, and beyond.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer highlighted that this route reinforces the airline’s commitment to offering diverse travel experiences.
For Red Sea Global, which is spearheading the development of the destination, the flights represent a major step in positioning the region as a premier luxury tourism hub.
Flight Schedule and Operations
Qatar Airways will operate three weekly flights between Doha (DOH) and The Red Sea (RSI).
Inaugural Service – 21 October 2025:
- Flight QR1226: Doha (DOH) 09:15 – The Red Sea (RSI) 12:15
- Flight QR1227: The Red Sea (RSI) 14:15 – Doha (DOH) 16:45
Regular Schedule (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays):
- Flight QR1226: Doha (DOH) 07:45 – The Red Sea (RSI) 10:45
- Flight QR1227: The Red Sea (RSI) 11:45 – Doha (DOH) 14:15
The Red Sea International Airport (RSI), operated by daa International since its 2023 opening, is designed to handle more than one million passengers annually by 2030. The airport’s architecture draws inspiration from the surrounding desert environment, blending modern infrastructure with local heritage.

The Red Sea: A New Tourism Landmark
The Red Sea project covers more than 90 pristine islands, dramatic canyons, and one of the world’s largest barrier reef systems. It has already opened five luxury hotels, with Shura Island set to become the centerpiece of the destination. By the end of 2025, the island will feature 11 resorts, an 18-hole championship golf course, retail and dining venues, and curated cultural programming.
Qatar Airways will now be the only international carrier connecting The Red Sea (RSI) directly with six continents, making this destination more accessible than ever before.
Red Sea Global (RSG) is a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company leading the development of The Red Sea and AMAALA, two luxury regenerative tourism projects on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast. Its portfolio also includes Thuwal Private Retreat, which opened in 2024, and the ongoing refurbishment of Al Wajh Airport. RSG’s projects align with Saudi Arabia’s ambition to diversify its economy while promoting sustainable development and cultural enrichment.
