TEL AVIV- A wave of international flight suspensions followed Israel’s unprecedented airstrikes on Iran, causing major disruptions across Middle Eastern air routes.

As regional tensions escalate, several global airlines have grounded or diverted services to destinations like Tel Aviv (TLV), Tehran (IKA), Beirut (BEY), and Amman (AMM).

The action came after Israel claimed Iran was nearing nuclear weapon capability, prompting the largest aerial offensive in its history.

Iran denies these allegations. Amid growing unrest and missile exchanges, airlines are reevaluating safety over critical regional airspace.

Following Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, major airlines like Emirates (EK) and Etihad Airways (EY) have suspended flights to Middle East destinations, including Tel Aviv and Tehran.

The conflict has disrupted air travel, with carriers such as Lufthansa (LH) and Qatar Airways (QR) cancelling routes to Amman (AMM) and Baghdad (BGW) through June and July 2025.

Air France (AF) and KLM (KL) stopped Tel Aviv flights indefinitely, with KLM also warning of possible disruptions to Beirut (BEY) routes.

Spain’s Air Europa (UX) pulled out of Tel Aviv until July 31. Transavia (HV) halted services to Tel Aviv, Amman, and Beirut.

India’s Air India (AI) redirected or grounded several Middle Eastern routes, while Israeli airlines Arkia (IZ) and Israir (6H) suspended all operations until late June. El Al (LY) scaled back flights through June 23.

Ongoing Instability

The affected airspace remains volatile, forcing airlines to prioritize passenger safety and logistical feasibility. A coordinated global aviation response may be required if tensions escalate further.
